Meet nikole

Nikole Newberry is a versatile and dynamic actor with a passion for storytelling that spans across stage and screen. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, she began her artistic journey at the age of eight when a teacher recognized her natural knack for memorization and performance. This early recognition of talent led her to the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, where she honed her skills in dance, acting, and singing—laying the foundation for a lifelong dedication to bringing joy to audiences through the art of performance.

After relocating to Sewickley, Pennsylvania in middle school, Nikole expanded her interests by participating in theatre, horseback riding, track, and volleyball. However, upon returning to Texas during her freshman year, she focused solely on theatre and horseback riding, quickly earning an International Thespian Membership in just one year. Her commitment to the craft was unwavering as she accumulated hours through performances, as well as assisting with set design and props.

Nikole went on to study at the KD Conservatory of Film and Dramatic Arts in Dallas, earning an Associate of Applied Acting degree in 2020. Like many, she found herself at a crossroads when the world shifted dramatically during the pandemic. Taking time to reflect on her path, she pivoted to a career in telecommunications, working as an executive assistant and fleet manager at Johnson Communications. Yet, her love for horses called her back, leading her to a year-long role as a trail barn manager and eventually working alongside renowned trainer Chris Eubank at Eubank Performance Horses.

Despite the fulfillment she found in these ventures, the stage continued to beckon. In 2022, Nikole returned to Pennsylvania, reigniting her passion for acting and theatre. Over the course of two years, which she fondly refers to as her “Pitt stop,” she refined her craft before making the bold decision to pursue her dreams in New York City, where she now calls home.

With more than 20 productions under her belt—from the whimsical joy of Shrek the Musical to the weighty gravitas of Shakespeare—Nikole’s performances are marked by a deep, authentic connection to each role. On screen, she has portrayed a range of characters, from Annika’s volleyball partner in Killer Rivalry to the eerie Betty/Acula in Retro Freaks.

Nikole is driven not only to be a compelling performer but to be a true creative force in the industry. Whether on stage, on screen, or in other artistic ventures, she is passionate about bringing unique and powerful stories to life. Now based in New York City, Nikole is ready to take on new challenges and opportunities, fully embracing the journey of a professional performer.

She is that rare type of artist who is talented in so many different areas: bring Shakespeare alive on stage, do amazing dance moves, flawlessly stage manage a show, create engaging and effective social media, but most of all bring joy and light to all of those around her in whatever role she plays. She is a performer who will wow you with her honesty and her depth and her humor on stage or on the screen, and will put a smile on your face whenever she is near. Andy Kirtland, Founder of New Renaissance Theatre Co.

"I've had the pleasure to collaborate with Nikole on stage and backstage, initially acting together, followed by my casting her in an unrehearsed Shakespeare production, and then she assistant directed me. In all roles, Nikole is a joy. I'm consistently impressed with her wide-ranging talent, theatrical instincts, and openness to direction. She's hilarious, with an infectious laugh and impeccable comedic timing. Nikole is tough as nails but also skilled at softer, more vulnerable moments. Her range is unbelievable. Importantly, she cares about the folks in a production and she shows it, ensuring that all feel welcomed, included, and valued. I hope that I'm lucky enough to work with Nikole again - and soon!"
